Schedule Update
To those who read the last newsletter, thanks for sticking with the Keanimusic tribe!
In this month's newsletter, you'll get an update on the schedule and progress of Keanimusic's development.
Last month, the timeframes — and all the milestones that come with them — were announced in October's newsletter. Every 6 weeks, a new animation would be completed in isolation until all nine were successfully finished.
Unfortunately, I soon found myself not envisioning that method working for a whole year. So, it was time to rethink the setup.
(By the way, before I address anything else, yes. Keanimusic is using Blender 3.4.1, which could be considered an "old" or "out-of-date" version, as sometime this month, we're getting Blender 4.0 (!), but it still works fine.)
Anyway, though, the new time setup provides more "wiggle room" to bounce from one song project to another, without getting behind on the schedule.
The Animation tab of Blender, as shown with Sunset Tower.
The way the new schedule works is:
Phase 1: All the sets are modeled. This should take only 2-3.5 months to complete. (Steampunk Lasers and Sunset Tower are both somewhere between halfway and mostly done.)
Phase 2: Then the animation is completed. This should take somewhere between 3.5 and 6 months.
Phase 3: Once the animation is completed for all the animations, then all of them are rendered, one after another.
Phase 4: Once that is done, I can then focus on the bonus features (which shouldn't take nearly as long), as well as the UX for the Blu-Ray. (Exciting!)
The only issue with this workflow is that there won't be much content or any really announcement-worthy stuff from Keanimusic for a while. And that is not good. So, I promise, somewhere during Phase 4, there will be suddenly a lot of very cool, juicy stuff here on the website. And yes, there will be a monthly update every single month without fail until this project gets done.
Thank you for reading this newsletter all the way to the end!
Stay tuned for more Keanimusic news.
