It all starts with GarageBand. The MIDI tracks are sequenced and adjusted until the song is finished. For music theory enthusiasts, the most common modes in Keanimusic are Dorian and Mixolydian. The most common tonic is E.
Then, to further produce and finish the music (so it can be burned to a CD), it is imported to Apple Music. There, each song's volume is changed and equalized until they all match.

The 3D software Blender is used for the final animation. The set and instruments are modeled, textured, and animated — all inside Blender. Sometimes, Adobe Illustrator is used to create some of the UV texture maps. Blender's compositing nodes are used in post-production.
Two apps for 2D graphic art (Illustrator and Photoshop) are used in Keanimusic. Illustrator helps to create concept art and Photoshop is sometimes used in post-production for poster-type images.

For video editing, Premiere Pro is used for all Keanimusic animations and bonus features. The raw rendered mp4 is added to the file, the color grading is fine-tuned, the sound is adjusted, titles and a fade-out at the end are added, and the music animation is complete.
